Before you read this article, I hope you have read my last article

Benefits of <a href="http://any-time-fitness.com/strength-training-ii/"title="strength training" >Strength Training.
Heres what strength training can do for you:

Boosts your self-confidence. This happens when you achieve the <a href="http://any-time-fitness.com/fitness-sports/"target="_top"rel="external"title="Fitness Introduction For You!" >fitness goals you set for yourself. Nothing feels better than setting a goal, putting in the hard-work, and reaching your goals! Exercise also produces endorphins which enhances your mood and makes you less stressed.

Lowers percentage of body fat. Lifting weights builds muscle and muscle burns fat. Even after a work-out is over your body continues burning calories.

More energy. Your blood flows better which increases oxygen levels going to your muscles. This makes it easier to flex muscles needed to climb stairs, walk, pick up objects, etc.

Lowers high blood pressure. Exercise reduces blood volume making it easier to flow throughout your body. High blood pressure can be detrimental to your health.

Builds Muscle. the stronger you are, the more muscles youll have. Strength training is not bodybuilding however: building muscle is a byproduct of exercising, not its goal.

Increases Health. Strength training increases endurance, bone density & testosterone levels. Strength training strengthens your joints, lowers cholesterol & improves your sleep..

Forges Character. Strength training teaches you persistence, sacrifice, self-control, responsibility & builds self-confidence.

Types of Strength Training. You have different methods available to build strength. Heres a non definite list:

Weight Lifting. Barbells are the easiest method to build strength. Start light, focus on technique & add weight systematically. The more weight on the bar, the stronger you get. Example of weight lifting exercises are the Squat, Bench Press, Overhead Press, Barbell Row & Deadlift.

Body-weight Exercises. Force you to use your own body-weight as resistance. Can be hard at first if you lack sufficient strength. Examples of body-weight exercises: Pull-ups, Chin-ups, Dips, Pistols & Push-ups.

<a href="http://any-time-fitness.com/page/6/"title="Machines" >Machines. Machines balance the weight for you. This makes them easier & less effective than free weights or body-weight exercises. Machines also force your body into a fixed movement pattern. Position yourself wrong using a lot of weight & you risk injuries.

TIPS of Strength Training

Ensure that the weights you are lifting are heavy enough, but not too heavy that you injure yourself. To build muscle you want to find a weight where you can only lift or push it 8-12 times. If you’re wanting to maintain your current muscle mass you should lift weights that you can lift 12-16 times.

Working-out in the morning is more beneficial than working-out in the evening. When you work-out in the morning it increases your metabolism all day. It also gives you more energy. The last thing you want is to have more energy before you go to bed at night. It’s true that exercising improves sleep, but exercising 4 hours before bed is not recommended; you could be up way later than you want. You should also work-out in the morning, because you will be more likely to exercise than if you wait until after work when you’re exhausted.

Let those important in your life know about your exercise goals. This will keep you on-track, because you will have someone supporting you and they will be there to follow up on your successes. They may also want to join, if you ask.

Set out a specific time to work-out. Exercising 3-4 times a week is recommended. If you set a specific time then working-out will become part of your routine and your lifestyle.

Most importantly: if you fall off track, do not worry about it. We all slip once in a while. Just get back on board with your goals and keep going.
